The Conservative Dentistry and Prosthetics have experienced great technological advances in recent decades. Due to the demand for cost reductions in the field of dentistry and to reduce artisanal and manual errors in the manufacture of dental prostheses, wins the CAD / CAM technology since its introduction in the dental field for over 10 years ago is becoming increasingly important. The joint project Hybrid-CT a new hybrid CT should be developed which allows a secure, reproducible and automated production of dental prostheses. Errors in the production process and cost and time-consuming processing of the denture to be significantly reduced in the future.
The new CT scanner, the measurement object is to be initially detected by a photogrammetric sensor. Thus a reference for the outer contour of the object is created. The inner contours and imperfections of the outer contour are supplemented by the data from the CT scans. Undercuts (Ask the optically can not be detected) are therefore unproblematic. By merging the data from both measuring method is to create a very accurate 3D model of the test object.
