Digital radiography in dental surgery or orthodontic practice is now one of the most important components of a modern, minimally invasive dentistry and orthodontics. The "look" in dental, interdental spaces, jawbone and tooth roots give final certainty about the health of these areas. The dentist is perfectly supported with the digital X-ray technology to examine his patients in a very gentle and complete way. Digital X-Ray is an imaging method in which, in contrast to conventional X-ray film, a special digital imaging plate is exposed. Digital technology offers numerous advantages:
- within seconds digitized tooth image
- immediate assessment of dental status
- up to 90 percent less radiation exposure
- higher image quality
- tooth and bone structures perfectly visible
- post adjusment regarding brightness and contrast
- easy sharing and archiving of digital images
- protects the environment
Developments around 3D CT and 3D CT extraoral
Digital radiography is an indispensable part of the repertoire of modern dental examination methods. It allows to represent tooth and bone structures that can be examined by the dentist otherwise not. The company Hugo Rost and Shake develop advanced products in the field of 3D-CT and extraoral 3D CT in cooperation with the BMBF. At various examples we show which of our developments around 3D CT and 3D CT extraoral exist.
